Why is meditation essential to reflect on innovative ideas?

When the experienced meditator reaches deep meditative levels, he or she accesses states of mind behind the thoughts.

Thoughts are linked to emotions. Thought is formed in dependence on "likes/dislikes" and the many components provided by the filters of our emotions and preconceived thoughts.

When the experienced meditator comes into contact with this inner space, behind the thoughts, he or she can then act in awareness, free from the egotistical filter of "likes/dislikes".

Reflection then becomes free of personal labels and concepts, allowing a pure vision to be brought to bear on the energies of life, which include all living beings and the Universe itself.

Of course, not everyone can access these liberating levels of depth, as it requires a lot of practice, time and motivation, but getting closer to them allows us to bring about healthy states of mind and thus reasoning that is less subject to ego influences and more in line with our inner wisdom.

This is an answer I gave to a question asked on Quora.
